Project Overview:
The Morrison Park and Neerigen High-Level Tank Construction project was a critical infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing water storage and distribution capabilities in Perth, Western Australia. The project included the design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning of two elevated water tanks (200 kL and 135 kL capacities). Despite the challenges posed by the constrained site and stringent water quality specifications, Altrad (formerly Valmec) delivered the project successfully, ensuring operational continuity and compliance with client standards.
Scope:
Altrad’s scope of work included:
- Design, procurement, fabrication, and construction of two elevated water tanks with 200 kL and 135 kL capacities.
- Civil works, including foundation and platform construction.
- Structural, piping, electrical, and instrumentation installations.
- Integration of SCADA systems for remote monitoring and operational control.
- Commissioning of the new infrastructure and decommissioning of the old tank.
Outcomes:
- Delivered the project within the 36-week schedule, ensuring operational efficiency and enhanced water storage capacity for Perth
- Constrained Site Conditions: Managed construction on a compact site while maintaining operational status of the existing tank. Phased construction allowed a seamless transition to the new infrastructure.
