The Bukom site, Shell’s largest wholly owned plant, has a 500,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery and a steam cracker that produces more than 900,000 tonnes of ethylene per year.

Shell has declared force majeure on base chemicals from its ethylene cracker at its Bukom manufacturing site in Singapore following an outage the day before. Initiated a shutdown of the ethylene cracker complex for unplanned maintenance work to repair a compressor.

Cape was contracted by Shell directly to support the unplanned shut-down works for multi-disciplinary services (scaffolding, insulation and painting). Pulau Bukom Site is new site for Cape while the contract demands Cape to execute with immediate turnaround mobilisation. 150men was mobilised within 2 weeks and continued to manned up progressively to 650men within 2.5 months after receipt of LOI.

Project was managed and executed safely and efficiently.
